How It Works
A CLEAR, PERSONAL PROCESS FOR COMMISSIONING HAND-DRAWN WILDLIFE ARTWORK AND PET PORTRAITS.
Commissioning artwork should feel simple and enjoyable. Whether you’re enquiring about a pet portrait or a wildlife commission, I’ll guide you through each stage clearly — from your first message to the finished drawing.
A Calm, Guided Commission Process
Every commission begins with a conversation. You don’t need to know every detail before getting in touch — I can help with suitable photos, composition ideas, sizing and the overall direction of the artwork.
Once the details are agreed, your place is secured with a 25% booking fee, and your drawing is created carefully by hand using professional coloured pencils or graphite.

Tell me about the portrait or wildlife artwork you have in mind. This might be a favourite pet, a meaningful wildlife subject, or an original idea inspired by the natural world.

Final Approval & Delivery
Once complete, your artwork is professionally prepared, carefully packaged and safely delivered to you.

Pet Portrait Commissions
Pet portraits are created from your favourite photographs and are designed to capture the character, expression and personality of your pet. I can help you choose suitable reference images, especially for memorial portraits where available photographs may be limited.
A clear, high-quality photo usually gives the best result, but you’re welcome to send a few options and I’ll advise which would work best for a hand-drawn portrait.

Wildlife Commissions
Wildlife commissions are ideal if you have a favourite species, a meaningful subject, or an original artwork idea inspired by nature. We can discuss the subject, composition, mood and size before deciding the best direction for the piece.
These commissions are created with the same care and attention as my original wildlife artwork, with a focus on detail, atmosphere and character.

Booking & Payment
For commissioned artwork, once the size, subject, layout and details have been agreed, a 25% booking fee secures your place in my commission schedule. As this reserves studio time and covers initial planning, the booking fee is non-refundable once your commission has been confirmed. Payment details are provided clearly at the booking stage.
The remaining balance is due once the artwork is complete and before it is carefully packaged and sent to you.
Prints and originals purchased through the shop are processed securely through Wix.

How Long Does a Commission Take?
Most commissions take around 2–4 weeks to complete once the artwork begins, depending on the size, detail and current commission schedule.
If you need artwork for a special date, please mention this when enquiring and I’ll let you know what is possible.
